The American Academy of Pediatrics now recommends “no television or media for children under age 2.” They believe that too much television could possibly “negatively affect early brain development” and some studies have suggested a link between heavy television watching in infants and toddlers to Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) later in life.”

Remember waiting for when you would be able turn your infant around in his car seat so he can have a better view of the world? (And so you could have a better view of him, too)?
Well, now you need to wait a little longer. Around 2003, the AAP added to their Car Safety Seats guidelines the recommendation that babies stay rear-facing as long as possible. Although it is safe to face them forward at age 1 or at least 20 pounds, they feel “it is best for him to ride rear-facing until he reaches the highest weight or height limit allowed by the car safety seat.”
